Who I am

The data controller for this website and for the care I provide is Emilie Maughan, trading as Nurture Nurse. I am a Registered Children's Nurse working across the Cotswolds and North Wiltshire.

If you have any question about your information, or want to make any of the requests set out below, email me at [email protected] and I will answer within one month.

What I collect, and why

When you use the enquiry form

The form records your name, your email address, the message you write, which kind of support you selected, the page you sent it from, and the browser and device your browser identifies itself as. It does not record your IP address.

I use this only to read and reply to your enquiry. My lawful basis is Article 6(1)(b) — taking steps at your request before entering into a contract — and, where an enquiry doesn't lead to work, Article 6(1)(f), my legitimate interest in keeping a record of who has contacted me and what I said back.

When you book a consultation

Bookings are handled by Google Calendar's appointment scheduling, not by this website. What you type into Google's booking form — your name, email address, and anything you add — goes to Google and appears in my calendar. This website never sees it and does not store it. Google processes it under its own privacy policy. My lawful basis for holding the booking is again Article 6(1)(b).

When you email, call or message me

I keep our correspondence so I can pick up where we left off. Lawful basis: Article 6(1)(b) where we're arranging care, and Article 6(1)(f) otherwise.

Server logs

My hosting provider keeps standard access logs, which include IP addresses, for a short period. These exist to keep the site running and secure, and I don't use them to build any picture of who you are. Lawful basis: Article 6(1)(f).

Information about health

Health information is special category data and gets extra protection. Please don't put detailed medical information about you or your baby into the enquiry form — a sentence about what you're finding hard is plenty, and we can talk properly about the rest.

Once I'm providing care, any health information you share is processed under Article 9(2)(h), the provision of health care by a professional bound by a duty of confidentiality. As a registered nurse I am bound by that duty and by the Nursing and Midwifery Council's Code. Health information you volunteer before then is held on the basis of your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who else handles it

I don't sell your information and I don't share it for marketing. I do rely on a small number of service providers to run the website, and they process your information on my instructions:

I will also disclose information where I am legally required to, or where I have a safeguarding duty to do so — if I believe a child or adult is at risk of harm, I may have to share what I know with the appropriate authority, and I would not be able to keep that confidential.

Information leaving the UK

Some of those providers are based in, or store data in, the United States. Where information is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by the safeguards UK law requires — either the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, or the ICO's International Data Transfer Agreement.

How long I keep it

You can ask me to delete anything earlier. See below.

Cookies and similar technologies

This website sets no cookies of its own. There is no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. Nothing follows you between pages or between sites.

Two things do store something, and here is exactly what:

You can change your mind at any time using cookie choices, which is also linked at the bottom of every page. Clearing your browser storage has the same effect, and you'll simply be asked again.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

Email [email protected] to exercise any of these. It is free, and I will respond within one month.

If you're unhappy

Please tell me first — most things are quickest to put right directly. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. Complaining to me first doesn't affect that right.

Changes to this notice

If I change how I handle your information, I'll update this page and the date at the top. This version is dated 2 August 2026.
